World Bank to provide Moldova with about 60 million dollars to modernize education system

Chisinau, July 13. /MOLDPRES/- The World Bank will provide Moldova with financial assistance as a grant and loan worth about 60 million dollars for the modernization of the education system. Parliament voted today the ratification of the agreements in the first reading.
Under the documents, the World Bank will offer Moldova grants worth 19.8 million dollars and a 40 million dollar-loan. The financial resources will be used to increase the quality of education for children and students by creating safe, modern learning environment.
Three new high schools will be built, 15 schools and the same number of kindergartens will be rehabilitated. Money will also be invested in physically and digitally upgrading learning environments in around 200 schools.
The ratification of the agreements will be proposed to the deputies for consideration in the second reading.
