Two Moldovan policemen dismissed, another four ones sanctioned after participating in altercation

Chisinau, 21 July /MOLDPRES/ - Two policemen have been dismissed and another four ones were sanctioned under an order by the head of the National Police Inspectorate (IGP), Viorel Cernauteanu.

Three of the sanctioned policemen are from the Centru Police Inspectorate of Chisinau and the Police Department of the Chisinau municipality. One policeman is employee of the Ialoveni Police Inspectorate.

According to IGP, the decision was taken after on 17 July the IGP’s Strength Inspection Department had initiated a workplace investigation against six Police employees, who 15 July were involved in an altercation on the territory of a leisure zone from the Suruceni village.

Thus, within the workplace investigation, law-enforcers established that ‘’the policemen committed actions inadequate to the status of policeman, as they defamed the image and prestige of the office and the institution they are members of, as well as the lack of notification of the nearest police subdivision about the circumstances.’’
