Over 1,300 employees infected with COVID-19 at work to receive one-off allowance worth 16,000 lei in Moldova

Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ - The public sector employees who were infected with Covid-19 while exercising their job duties till 30 September 2020, as well as the medical staff who was infected during 2021-2022 will benefit from an one-off allowance worth 16,000 lei (800 euros). The cabinet approved a decision to this effect.

According to the Finance Ministry, 1,311 people will benefit from one-off allowance, mostly medical employees. As much as 20.9 million lei will be allocated from the government’s intervention fund to this end.

As much as 10.2 million lei of this sum will be earmarked to the Health Ministry for 635 people; 3.2 million lei – to the Chisinau Municipal Council for 203 people; 880,000 lei – to the Sangerei district council for 55 people; 592,000 lei – to the Balti Municipal Council for 37 people and the rest of money will be distributed to other central and local public authorities.

So far, 20,378 employees have benefited from the one-off allowance of 16,000 lei.
