Moldovan PM meets president of top European bank

Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ - The implementation of infrastructure projects, consolidation of the business environment and the enhancement of the energy efficiency have been discussed by Prime Minister Dorin Recean and President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso, on a visit to Chisinau, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM referred to the important programmes for citizens, developed in Moldova: roads constructed, railways modernized, power lines consolidated. At the same time, Prime Minister Dorin Recean thanked for the support provided to overcome the crises faced in the last years, especially to enhance the energy efficiency. He touched upon the cabinet’s priorities, with emphasis on the development of the economy and encouraging investments.
„Ewe put emphasis on the de-bureaucratization of processes, strengthening the capacities of the state’s institutions, on the modernization of settlements and enhancing the energy security through boosting the switch to the green economy. We also make efforts to create friendly conditions for the development of the business environment through the launch of governmental programmes on backing entrepreneurs. I want you to regard Moldova not only as a country which needs financial assistance, but also as an opportunity of investments,’’ PM Dorin Recean stressed.
The EBRD president appreciated the fact that, despite all challenges, Moldova continued to advance in the fields of major importance, such as the infrastructure projects, creation of a friendly environment for entrepreneurs and digitalization of services. The EBRD head reaffirmed the support of the institution she leads in strengthening the good governance, enhancing the decision-making transparency and consolidation of the energy sector.
