Moldovan foreign affairs minister discusses with group of Lithuanian lawmakers

Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has received a delegation of Lithuania’s Seimas (parliament), led by the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Žygimantas Pavilionis, the  Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.

Minister Nicu Popescu and the Lithuanian officials discussed Moldova’s European integration way and the country’s significant progress in the implementation of those nine recommendations of the European Commission.  

„I said that we are determined to further achieve all goals set, so that the negotiations on accession are launched till the end of this year. In the context, I thanked for the assistance provided by Lithuania in our European integration way, including through programmes on professional qualification meant for MAEIE’s civil servants. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from Lithuania’s valuable experience.   

We also discussed the close friendship relations between our countries and ways of strengthening the bilateral dialogue in the energy and information security sectors, agriculture and regional development,’’ the Moldovan official said.
