Government stands with people: 74 localities affected by bad weather to get aid

Chisinau, July 28. /MOLDPRES/- Government provides material aid to the 74 localities in 6 districts of the country that have been affected by the bad weather of July 25-26. A decision was taken by the Commission for Emergency Situations and approved at the cabinet meeting, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

From the state reserves, goods will be offered in the form of construction materials - 64,677 sheets of slate for the roof, and 493.2 m3 of lumber, totaling 16,317.8 thousand lei.

"I ask the local authorities to mobilize and show responsibility to carry out all the repair work as soon as possible and remove the damage," Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.

The materials, released from the Material Reserve Agency under the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be distributed to the local public authorities in the districts of Edineț, Soroca, Râșcani, Dondușeni, Drochia and Hâncești, to carry out the repair and construction works of residential houses, administrative and cultural buildings, which were affected by torrential rains and strong wind gusts.

Starting today, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations will take care of the management of the material aid to localities in the north and center of the country, affected by bad weather conditions.
