Moldovan, Austrian officials approach bilateral cooperation

Chisinau, July 28. /MOLDPRES/- On the sidelines of the visit to Salzburg, President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu met with her Austrian counterpart, the presidential press service has reported.
"I had a warm meeting with President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen - a good friend of Moldova. I thanked President Van der Bellen for the support both through development assistance and supporting our European path," said the head of state.
Thanks to the assistance provided by the Austrian Development Agency, we raise the living standards of our citizens. Due to the Austrian support, a water purification station is being built in Edineț for about 26 thousand citizens from Edineț and Cupcini.
"We also discussed the importance of initiating the accession negotiations of the Republic of Moldova to the EU as soon as possible. Finally, I invited President Van der Bellen to visit Moldova this year. We will continue the collaboration between our countries, to carry out as many joint projects as possible for citizens and to strengthen peace and stability on the European continent", the head of state concluded.
Yesterday, Maia Sandu participated in Salzburg Summit. On the sidelines of the Summit, the head of state had bilateral meetings with several high officials.
