Moldova won six medals at U18/U23 Kayak-Canoe European Championships

Chisinau, July 31. /MOLDPRES/- The kayak-canoe team of the Republic of Moldova ranked eighth in the general ranking at the U18/U23 European Championships, winning six medals: one gold, three silver and two bronze.

Daniela Cociu and Maria Olărașu won the gold medal in the C2-500 meters event and the silver medal in C2-200 meters. At the same time, Mihail Culeac and Stanislav Banaru won two silver medals in the C2 500 meters and C2 1000 meters events.

According to the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC), Maria Olărașu won the bronze medal in the C1-500 meters event, and Elena Glizan won the bronze in the U23 Canoe over the distance of 200 meters. Alexandru Tacu achieved a solid evolution, obtaining fourth place in the C1 U18-200 meters event.

The U18/U23 Kayak-Canoe European Championship was held in Montemor-o-Velho, Portugal.
