New bridge over Dniester to be built at Moldovan-Ukrainian border

Chisinau, July 31. /MOLDPRES/- A bridge over the Dniester river will be built in the area of Cosăuți - Yampil. The ratification of an Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine was voted today by the parliament.

According to the authorities of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, the construction of the bridge will ensure the connection of the road network through the eastern part of the Republic of Moldova to the trans-European road network TEN-T. This will result in the facilitation of trade and mobility of citizens, as well as increase the role that the Republic of Moldova has as a link between the European Union states and neighboring states.

According to the Agreement, the Government of Ukraine will ensure the financing for the technical project, for the construction of the bridge and for the related infrastructure on its territory, and the Republic of Moldova will ensure the construction of the related road infrastructure on its territory. The necessary expenses for this will be established after a feasibility study has been developed. The works are to be completed by the end of 2025.

The agreement between the governments of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine regarding the construction of the bridge over the Dniester River was signed in Kyiv on June 12, 2023.
