Moldova to receive 90 million euros on behalf of Japan

Chisinau, 31 July /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will benefit from a preferential loan worth 13.5 billion Japanese yen (over 90 million euros), provided by the government of Japan through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The MPs today ratified more agreements to this effect.
The financial means are provided, in order to cover the budget deficit, as well as to back the reforms in Moldova. In particular, the reforms regard the economic improvement of Moldova, improvement of the medical system and of the business sector, with the financial assistance contributing to the promotion of the efforts of Moldova’s development. Also, the agreements imply that Moldova will observe certain conditions; some of them are aimed at improving the medical system and at promoting the small- and medium-sized enterprises.
The loan will be borrowed for a 40-year repayment period, of which a ten-year grace period. The financial means will be disbursed during two years after the date of the agreement’s signing.
