Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office head made public results of institution's activity over past year

Chisinau, Aug. 1 /MOLDPRES/- The head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office, Veronica Dragalin and her deputies held a press conference today. They presented the institution's results of the last year and announced the forecasts for the next period.
The PA head made public the results obtained in the resonance files such as bank fraud, the Russian laudromat and the results from the files of former officials. The Anticorruption leader requested salary increases for anticorruption prosecutors and legislative changes that will facilitate the work of these prosecutors.
Veronica Dragalin said that recently CNA officers had their salary increased, but prosecutors - not.
The official called for several legislative changes that would allow more prolific activity for prosecutors and increase fines and penalties for acts of corruption. She requested consecutive court hearings as well as amendments to the law that would allow searches of deputies and state officials without the need for the consent of several courts.
Dragalin criticized the amendments made yesterday by deputies to the legislation saying that they will affect the activity of the PA.
