Driving licenses issued in Moldova to be recognized in Israel

Chisinau, 2 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- Driving licenses issued in the Republic of Moldova and the State of Israel will be mutually recognized. The Cabinet approved today the signing of the Agreement between the two states on the procedures for the conversion of driving licenses.
Following the conclusion of the Agreement, the Republic of Moldova and the State of Israel will recognize each other's driver's licenses, which will allow the citizens of both countries to operate the conversion procedures, without taking exams for this purpose. Unique standards will be applied by which it will be possible to evaluate the veracity and legality of driving licenses.
The agreement will be concluded for a five-year-period, with a possible five-year extension. It aims to expand and strengthen cooperative relations between the two states. At the same time, it aims to facilitate road traffic in the two states.
"The conclusion of this Agreement is not only an opportunity to confirm the friendly relations between the Republic of Moldova and the State of Israel, but also a way to provide real benefits for the citizens of both countries", State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Igor Trofimov said.
The Republic of Moldova has concluded three more agreements in the conversion and mutual recognition of driving licenses with Turkey, Lithuania and Italy.
