Ministry of Culture and UNHCR to implement programs to facilitate multicultural exchange between refugees and host communities

Chisinau, 2 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees /UNHCR/ Moldova and the Ministry of Culture will implement joint initiatives and programs aimed at facilitating multicultural exchange between refugees, host communities and cultural institutions. A memorandum of understanding in this regard was signed today by the two parties.

The document sees organization of cultural events, exhibitions, workshops and educational activities, which promote intercultural dialogue and understanding.

Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan said that by providing platforms for expression and cultural interaction, the aim is to encourage social cohesion and mutual respect.

UNHCR and the Ministry of Culture will also identify an Ambassador of Goodwill, who will join the organization's efforts in addressing the challenges faced by refugees, asylum seekers and other beneficiaries.
