Parliament's leadership, U.S. Congress delegation approached Moldova's reform agenda

Chisinau, 4 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Speaker Mihail Popșoi had a meeting with the U.S. Congress delegation. Attending the event were also head of the Foreign Policy and European Integration Commission Doina Gherman, secretary of the legal committee on rules and immunities Igor Chiriac and member of the national security, defense and public order commission Andrian Cheptonar.
According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, the discussions focused on the security situation in the region, the reform agenda of the Republic of Moldova, as well as the European path of our country.
"The Republic of Moldova is a vulnerable country in the context of the Russian Federation's war in Ukraine. Currently, we are facing a lot of challenges - attempts to destabilize the situation, propaganda and cyber attacks on state institutions", Mihail Popșoi said.
The deputy speaker also referred to the priorities in the government agenda, including ensuring economic growth. "We are trying to attract investors, but it is quite difficult, because we are affected not only by the war, but also by the crisis in the energy security", he said.
The MPs expressed gratitude for the support given by the USA to our country. In this context, American officials said they are willing to continue supporting the Republic of Moldova.
