Another 15 thousand slate sheets arrived in Soroca, Edineț, Dondușeni affected by bad weather

Chisinau, 4 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- Another 15 thousand slate sheets arrived in Soroca, Edineț and Dondușeni districts where the heavy rain and strong wind caused several damages.

According to IGSU, over the eight days, several trucks loaded with sheets of slate, timber, and metal tiles arrived in the districts of the country.

So far, the districts of Edineț, Dondușeni and Soroca in total have benefited from 15,441 slate sheets for local residents to cover houses and public buildings. At the same time, five districts, Drochia, Hâncești, Râșcani, Dondușeni and Edineț, received assistance in the form of timber, with a total of 389.67 m3 being distributed. Also, during the day of August 3, 900 m2 of metal tiles were delivered to the Edineț district. In addition to transporting materials, rescuers and firefighters offered help to the infirm and elderly, covering and repairing damaged homes.

All the material goods, offered as assistance to the people who were left with destroyed houses, were released from the Material Reserve Agency under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, at the decision of the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
