Energocom fully repaid second installment of 200 million euros from EBRD loan

Chisinau, Aug. 8 /MOLDPRES/- Energocom fully repaid the second installment worth 200 million euros of the loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The installment was accessed at the beginning of the year, and was repaid early on August 7.

The loan worth 300 million euros for the implementation of the Security of natural gas supply project was used by Energocom between October 17, 2022 - January 10, 2023 for the diversification of natural gas procurement sources and the creation of strategic stocks.

For the implementation of the project, 130 rounds of tenders were held, organized according to EBRD rules, during which over 300 million m3 of gas were purchased.

The loan could be used by Energocom, if needed, for a three-year period.
