In July, passenger traffic at Chisinau International Airport up by 14.5%

Chisinau, August 10 /MOLDPRES/- In July, passenger traffic at Chisinau International Airport increased by 14.5% or by over 40 thousand people, compared to the same period in 2022.

According to the airport administration, the total number of passengers transported during seven months of this year reached 1,502,596, up by 51.1% or 508,415 passengers compared to the same period of the previous year.

During July, compared to the similar period of the previous year, there was a 20% increase in aircraft take-off/landing operations, reaching the figure of 2480 operations, 412 more than in July 2022. In the case regular races, in July 2023, the number of operations increased by 16.4% compared to July 2022, and traffic increased by 12.8%.

This year, Turkey is in the top of the holiday destinations operated from Chisinau airport, with a share of around 45% and an increase of over 17 thousand passengers, compared to July 2022. The ranking continues with the most popular destinations: Antalya, Istanbul, Heraklion, Warsaw and Dublin.

In July, 5,789 passengers were transported to new destinations, accounting for 3.76% of the total passenger traffic. Thus, 1278 passengers flew to Valencia, 2749 passengers to Podgorica, and 1762 passengers to Tirana.
