21 documents with EU logo passed by parliament in spring session

Chisinau, August 10 /MOLDPRES/- 21 documents with the European Union logo were passed by Parliament during the 2023 spring session.

According to the parliamenr's communication and public relations department, the documents transpose several European Union directives into the legislation of the Republic of Moldova.

The normative acts with the EU logo, passed by the Parliament, cover several areas, including harmonization clauses related to energy efficiency, public health, combating money laundering, finance, justice, cyber security, ecology, banking, infrastructure. Out of the total number of normative acts, eight were examined as a matter of priority.

On March 4, 2022, the Republic of Moldova officially submitted its application for membership in the EU. Later, the European Council recognized the European perspective of the Republic of Moldova and decided to grant it the status of a candidate country for EU membership. Currently, our country is in the process of implementing the nine recommendations stipulated by the European Commission, and the authorities aim at initiating negotiations on EU accession by late 2023.
