Ambassador of Latvia concluding diplomatic mission to Moldova

Chisinau, August 10 /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu had a farewell meeting with Uldis Mikuts, Ambassador of Latvia to Moldova on the end of his mandate in our country, the MAEIE press service has reported.

The Moldovan official thanked the ambassador for his significant contribution to the development of friendly relations between the Republic of Moldova and Latvia.

"We discussed the European path of the Republic of Moldova and reiterated our gratitude for Latvia's support in obtaining the status of a candidate country for EU accession. I assured the Ambassador that we are determined to continue working so that accession negotiations are launched by the end of this year. We count on Latvia's support", he said.
