Four non-judge CSM candidates passed assessment

Chisinau, August 10 /MOLDPRES/- The Pre-Vetting Commission announced today the results of the evaluation on five non-judges from the II group of candidates nominated by the Parliament for the position of member of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM). Four of them passed the assessment, and one candidate failed.
According to the Commission, Aliona Corcenco, Veaceslav Guțan, Vitalie Sîli and Iulian Muntean meet the criteria of financial and ethical integrity and pass the evaluation, while candidate Ana Tipa does not pass the evaluation.
The Commission's decisions can be appealed to the Supreme Court of Justice within five days from the date of receipt.
In late July, the Evaluation Commission concluded the hearing of candidates from group II of non-judges, proposed by the Parliament for positions in the CSM. Of the nine candidates with professional experience in the field of law or in another relevant field, included in the list sent to the Commission by the legal committee on rules and immunities, eight candidates participated in the hearings of the Pre-Vetting Commission, as one withdrew from the contest. Therefore, up to this point, four candidates have passed the assessment, two candidates have not passed the assessment, and three other candidates are awaiting the decisions of the Commission in order to become eligible for a position as a member of the CSM.
