44 entrepreneurs to be supported by state, EU for business initiation or development

Chisinau, August 11 /MOLDPRES/- A number of 44 new companies will receive non-refundable funding from the state and the European Union to invest in the development, modernization, digitization or greening of businesses. The total amount of financing is about 19 million lei (950 thousand euros).

Entrepreneurs will access grants from 200 thousand lei to two million lei through - Start for Youth, the Program for drawing remittances in economy PARE 1+2, digital transformation, greening enterprises and re-technology and energy efficiency.

Out of the total number of new beneficiaries, 17 operate in rural areas, and 27 operate in urban areas. Among them, 15 businesses are managed by young people and 15 by women.

The investments due to be made will be meant to purchase equipment and machinery, installations for alternative energy sources, replacement of current equipment with more efficient ones, wastewater treatment plants, installation of air filtration system, water recycling systems.

ODA director Dumitru Pîntea informed the entrepreneurs about the latest government initiatives on supporting access to finance, urging them to apply to other entrepreneurial support tools to develop sustainable businesses.
