Former MP Vladimir Andronachi released from house arrest

Chisinau, August 11 /MOLDPRES/- Former deputy Vladimir Andronachi was released from house arrest and given the preventive measure "personal guarantee". The decision was taken by the Chisinau Court and cannot be appealed.
According to the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office, by the conclusion of the Chisinau Court, Buiucani headquarters, the state prosecutor's approach to extend the preventive measure "house arrest" regarding the defendant Andronachi Vladimir was rejected and the request of the defense to replace the preventive measure of house arrest in personal guarantee.
The preventive measure "personal guarantee" was admitted by the court at the request of four guarantors. The conclusion cannot be appealed.
According to the legislation, the preventive measure "personal guarantee" is the written commitment that a reliable person assumes through his authority and the amount of money deposited, in order to guarantee the behavior of the suspect, the accused, the defendant, as well as the observance of public order and the presentation of his when he will be summoned by the criminal investigation body or the court. The number of guarantors cannot be less than two and more than five.
Vladimir Andronachi was detained in early November 2022. He is suspected of participating in the crime of fraud in particularly large proportions in the interest of a criminal organization, and directly in the interest of Vladimir Plahotniuc, who is a person close to the latter. He had the task of ensuring the obtaining of permissive documents from the National Bank of Moldova, which allowed the members of the criminal organization to embezzle money from Banca de Economii in the amount of over 12.5 million US dollars and over 23.8 million euros.
