Chisinau, August 13 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu attended today a festival organized on the shores of Lake Beleu, which is part of the "Prutul de Jos" biosphere reserve, included in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves, the presidential press service has reported.
"It was a real joy to participate in the Beleu Bio Fest Festival, in Slobozia Mare, Cahul. The event, in its second edition, celebrates the picturesque nature, the original gastronomy, the dances and the popular port that bring us fame in the world", said the head of state.
The official said that the event is a good opportunity to remember that our country has a tourism potential that must be used by preserving and caring for nature, by developing businesses and by creating a favorable infrastructure for tourism.
"Another good news is that by the end of the year, the last 18 km section of the M3 Chisinau-Giurgiulești route, which bypasses the village of Slobozia Mare, will be put into operation, and thus people and houses in the area will no longer suffer due to heavy traffic. Gradually, Moldova will have quality roads, indispensable for the economic and touristic development of our country", the official said.
