Chisinau, August 14 /MOLDPRES/- Inflation in the Republic of Moldova is on a firm downward trend, and this October the index could reach the variation range of the 5 percent target. The information was presented today by governor of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) Octavian Armașu. He noted that inflation no longer represents a risk for investments and consumption.
"Inflation is on a firm downward trend. The previous monetary policy measures taken by the BNM create conditions for further decrease in inflation, so we expect that in this October we will reach the inflation variation range. We can see that inflation is no longer a risk for investments and consumption", said Octavian Armașu at the presentation of the third report on inflation.
The official added that in late July, inflation being in its downward trend, reached the level of 10.8%. Armașu said that since the beginning of the third quarter of this year, several signs of revival of the economy can be observed, and the monetary conditions created by the BNM come to support economic recovery and growth.
