Chisinau, August 15 /MOLDPRES/- At least three people of Termoelectrica company will be sanctioned following the fuel oil leaks of last autumn. Company's interim director Iurie Razlovan made the statement today. He presented the results of the internal investigation carried out in this case.
According to the director, the oil leak occurred on the night of November 7-8, 2022.
He said that during the investigation, some officials gave conflicting statements regarding the incident. The official denied the information according to which the fuel was of poor quality, stating that "according to the documents, the fuel procured in the last two years is compliant", and "on the accounting side, no deficiencies were found".
In the case of the fuel oil leak, Termoelectrica paid a fine of about 20 thousand lei. The spilled oil has been collected and is in secure storage. "We are going to identify an economic agent that could take over the said material, either on the roads, at an asphalt factory or elsewhere," said Razlovan.
The head of Termoelectica, who was appointed two weeks ago, stated that changes were made in the organizational chart of the institution in order to make activity more efficient, and about 20 positions within the company will be reduced.
Razlovan said that currently the financial situation at Termoelectrica is complicated, and the company has debts of about 2 billion lei. Under these conditions, a working group was created which would come up with proposals for the recovery of the situation.
Recently, video images were broadcast in the public space, as if low-quality fuel oil had been buried at Termoelectrica. As a result, Prime Minister Dorin Recean requested the resignation of the company's management. A few days later, the interim director of Termoelectrica, Vasile Leu, submitted his resignation, and Iurie Razlovan was appointed in his place.
