One more CSM candidate passed Pre-Vetting Commission evaluation

Chisinau, August 16 /MOLDPRES/- Another CSM candidate passed the Pre-Vetting Commission assessment. Of the 9 candidates included in the list sent to the Commission by the legal committee on rules and immunities, on May 5, up to this moment, five candidates have passed the evaluation, two candidates have not passed it, and two other candidates are awaiting the commission's decisions.

According to the Commission, Lucia Popescu, candidate for the position of CSM member, from non-judges, meets the criteria of financial and ethical integrity and promotes the evaluation. The promotion decision was sent today to the candidate and the Parliament, which is the institution responsible for organizing the competition, in this case.

Lucia Popescu is to notify the Commission whether or not she opposes the publication of the decision within 48 hours of receiving it. The decisions of the Pre-Vetting Commission have the right of appeal and can be appealed to the Supreme Court of Justice within 5 days from the date of reception, without observing the prior procedure.

Candidate Lucia Popescu is part of the second group of non-judge candidates nominated by the Parliament for the position of member in the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM), after they were selected by the legal commission on rules and immunities.
