Chisinau, Aug. 17 /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu today presented the results of the meeting of ambassadors of the Republic of Moldova, held in Chisinau on August 16-17.
"We had in Chisinau our teams from the embassies, which came together to discuss, plan and improve diplomatic action at the external level. We strengthened the role of the Republic of Moldova as a candidate state for EU accession, we managed to meet three of the nine conditions of the European Commission set in the context of our EU accession process. We are still working on the implementation of other conditions. In the relationship with the EU, we managed to launch new initiatives: we launched the European partnership mission, we managed to achieve the creation of a system of international sanctions against the oligarchs and the corrupt, we suspended the application of quotas to our agricultural exports", said Nicu Popescu.
The head of Moldovan diplomacy also said that at this stage, those in charge are focused on obtaining the recommendation to start EU accession negotiations, and when this happens, our country will identify and appoint a chief negotiator, which will interact with the EU.

"The main objectives remain to bring the Republic of Moldova into the European Union, the contribution of the diplomatic service to the economic growth of the Republic of Moldova by attracting investments, mobilizing assistance and promoting exports," he said.
