Moldovan president, other European leaders discuss process of EU's enlargement in Athens

Chisinau, 22 August /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu pas participated in a meeting in Athens, at an invitation by Prime Minister of Greece Kyriákos Mitsotákis. The event brought together officials of the Western Balkans, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Ukraine and European Union leaders, the presidential press service has reported.
The summit provided a platform of discussions on the process of EU’s enlargement: ‘’I referred to the fact that Moldova’s accession to EU is an investment in our democracy and in the regional security. The Chisinau authorities are firmly committed to carry out the reforms due to allow us cerate European living conditions at home,’’ the Moldova head of state said.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Moldovan president also discussed the European integration way of Moldova and the country’s bilateral agenda with Prime Minister of North Macedonia Dimitar Kovachevski , Bulgarian PM Nikolai Denkov and Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković.
„The accession to the European Union is our country project, through which we will fulfill the Moldovans’ aspirations to live in peace and well-being. Moldova’s place is among the strong and free countries of the world,’’ President Maia Sandu stressed.
