Moldovan cabinet approves extension of border crossing points meant for import of oil products

Chisinau, 30 August /MOLDPRES/ - The list of customs checkpoints for the crossing of oil products imported by road, railway and naval transport is extending. In this respect, the cabinet of ministers approved a draft law, proposed at an initiative by the Finance Ministry. The draft sees the completion of the border crossing points, through which the import of oil products is allowed: Giurgiulesti–Galati, Cahul–Oancea, Sculeni–Sculeni, Mirnoye–Tabaki, Vulcanesti–Vinogradovka and Giurgiulesti–Reni (road checkpoints), Basarabeasca–Serpniovo-1 (railway) and Giurgiulesti-Port (naval checkpoint), the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Presently, the import of oil products by railway transport is allowed through the crossing points at the introduction on the customs area of Moldova: Ocnita, Kuchurgan, Etulia, Giurgiulesti and Ungheni and by road transport means – only through the border crossing points Leuseni-Albita, Tudora–Starokazacie, Otaci– Mohyliv-Podilskyi and Pervomaysk–Kuchurgan.
The draft’s goal is to extend the border crossing points meant for the import of oil products also following the expiration of the emergency state on the entire territory of Moldova, in order to ensure the relief of the traffic at the border checkpoints presently used for the import of oil products.
