First Bell heard in Moldova's schools today

Chisinau, 1 September /MOLDPRES/ - The new school year today starts at all education institutions from Moldova, with the organization of solemn all-school assemblies, occasioned by the First Bell.
According to preliminary data by the Education and Research Ministry (MEC), based on the information submitted by local specialty bodies in the education sector, about 32,500 children will go to school in the first form this year. The final data on children’s registration in the first form will be announced by 15 September.
The first class in the new academic year from all over Moldova will have the title, European Moldova, in the context of the getting by Moldova of the status of country candidate for accession to the European Union.
MEC submitted a circular letter to the general education institutions, according to which the teachers will elaborate the educational message of the first class for the primary schools, gymnasiums and lyceums. Depending on the age, children are proposed subjects for discussions related to the European integration, including the European goals and values, the freedom and democracy of a state.
