Over 1,000 students registered at Nicolae Testemitanu Medical University of Moldova solemnly take oath of student

Chisinau, 1 September /MOLDPRES/ - Over 1,000 students registered at the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) took oath of student at a solemn ceremony today.   

The solemn ceremony, organized at the Chisinau-based Nicolae Sulac National Palace, was opened by USMF Rector Emil Ceban. He urged the young people to be proud of the choice made, as they will contribute to the health of the entire society.    

Traditionally, the students admitted to the first year solemnly took the oath of the USMF student, through which they committed to observe the university’s values and traditions, have a good academic success, respect their professors and become valuable specialists.   

At the same time, the sixth-year students handed the medical students the white doctor’s smocks, along with other symbols of medicine, such as the stethoscope and the scalpel, as well as the flame of the knowledge, which they will have to preserve and convey to the next generations of medical students.   

This year, 1,121 people passed the contest at those eight degree and integrated education syllabi provided by the institution. The number of young people matriculated includes both the students admitted with financing from the state budget (500 students) and those studying on contract basis (621).
