Firemen extinguish 11 vegetation fires in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 1 September /MOLDPRES/ - Employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) in the last 24 hours were called in 11 cases for extinguishing vegetation fires. Most interventions were made in settlements from the districts of Straseni, Causeni, Orhei, Calarasi, as well as the Chisinau municipality.

According to IGSU, a vegetation fire on 31 August evening was liquidated by firemen on the Ialoveni Street, in the Telecentru district of Chisinau. The call at the 112 Service was received at 20:27. According to first information, a large area of land was burning. Three teams of rescuers and firemen were sent on the spot and the fire was extinguished at 23:02. Over 20 hectares of land were compromised in the wake of the burning.  

In the context, IGSU reminds residents about the need to observe the anti-fire rules. In conditions of high air temperatures and low humidity, any spark can trigger large fires.  

According to data collected from IGSU territorial subdivisions, firemen have extinguished the fire on 58 hectares of burning vegetation in the last 24 hours.
