Moldovan PM has meeting with Supreme Allied Commander Europe

Chisinau, 2 September /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Christopher Cavoli have discussed at the government’s headquarters aspects of the regional security situation and efforts of consolidating the defence capacities of Moldova, the government’s communication and protocol department reported.
The discussion’s agenda included a string of subjects on the deepening of the cooperation relations between Moldova and the American partners, continuing the implementation of joint projects and the National Army’s modernization.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean expressed gratitude for the fact that the USA remained a strategic partner, backing with confidence the projects on reformation of the National Army, through programmes on assistance and providing to Moldovan servicemen opportunities of training at American specialized institutions.
„Your visit is another strong signal of supporting Moldova. We appreciate the donations of military equipment, the opportunities of development and the experience you provide to our military, as well as the support provided in the process of the National Army’s aligning with the international standards. We continue to enhance the defence capabilities and increase the degree of inter-operability,’’ PM Dorin Recean said.
The American general appreciated Moldova’s contribution to the international peacekeeping operations and of ensuring the regional security. General Christopher Cavoli stressed that the participation of the National Army’s contingents in international operations along with American and other states’ military had a major role in maintaining peace and strengthening the global security.
„We are here to assure you that you enjoy all our support in the approaches started, on reformation and modernization of the national military institution, as well as in enhancing the defence capacity through renewing the military equipment,’’ Supreme Allied Commander Europe, general Christopher Cavoli said.
