Chisinau, 4 September /MOLDPRES/ - The water from Iasi, Romania, has crossed the Prut river and reached the Macaresti village, western Ungheni district of Moldova. Officials from both states today participated in the inauguration of the point of undercrossing the Prut river Macaresti-Macaresti.
„Due to the agreement between the governments of Moldova sand Romania, the kindergarten from the village and over 350 households are among the first ones to have access to drinking water, delivered by ApăVital Iasi,’’ Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Andrei Spinu said.
According to the minister, another point of undercrossing comes next, which will connect the Sculeni-Sculeni settlements. ‘’In parallel, within a regional development project, we construct the aqueduct on the interconnection of the Prut river – Macaresti village with 13 settlements from the Nisporeni and Ungheni districts. This interconnection will provide access to drinking water to the citizens from the communes Macaresti, Frasinesti, Costuleni, Bolduresti, Chilisioaia, Bacseni, Bratuleni, Carnesti, Valea-Trestieni, Isaicani, Luminita, Selisteni and Odobesti,’’ Spinu noted.
„This is just the first step. We want to interconnect settlements from five districts to quality water: Hancesti, Nisporeni, Ungheni, Falesti and Glodeni,’’ the infrastructure and regional development minister added.
