Moldovan president has meeting with PM of the Netherlands

Chisinau, 5 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has had a discussion with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, during a visit to Hague, the presidential press service reported.
„We have ever closer relations with the Netherlands, especially after the decision by the Dutch government to open, in last April, an embassy in Chisinau – a signal of confidence and solidarity,’’ the head of state said.
The Moldovan president thanked PM Rutte for the support of Moldova’s European integration way, stressing that the country further relied on the backing of the Netherlands in starting the negotiations on accession to EU. ‘’We discussed how we can increase the volume of commercial exchanges and consolidate the economic relations. On 4 September, we made an important step to this end – the foreign affairs ministries signed the Protocol on the amendment of the bilateral convention, through which the double taxation is avoided as regards the tax on income and on capital. In next October, we will organize a forum of business people from our countries,’’ the head of state noted.
President Maia Sandu expressed gratitude also for the development assistance provided by the Dutch partners in more key sectors: justice reform, good governance, human rights, press freedom, backing the civil society, as well as the energy field and the security one. ‘’Moldova has reliable partners, who support us through concrete projects and help us consolidate the state Republic of Moldova and remain part of the free and democratic world,’’ the head of state said.
On 3-5 September, President Maia Sandu paid a working visit to the Netherlands, in order to promote Moldova’s accession to EU and the bilateral economic relations.
