Taxi services to be improved in Moldova

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/ - All holders of platforms and applications of calls for taxi are to be legally registered in Moldova and the systems are to be used only through the transport operators which provide services in taxi system. The parliament’s commission for economy, budget and finances approved a decision to this effect today.    

The draft’s authors suggest that all holders of platforms and applications of calls for taxi should be legally recorded in Moldova and the systems should be used only through the transport operators which provide services in taxi system. Also, in order to monitor those who provide such services, the platform holders will quarterly submit the list of vehicles and all drivers who operate taxi regime routes to the National Agency for Motor Transport.   

In the context, amendments will be introduced to the Contravention Code, so that the infringements committed by those who hold platforms or the carriers are punished. Another provision of the legislative initiative obliges the managers of transport units to inform passengers about the availability of the auxiliary services (chair for children or transfer of company animals), as well as about the tariffs related to the use of these additional services.
