Moldovan MPs adopt new regulations for facilitating energy projects

Chisinau, 7 September /MOLDPRES/ - The normative framework for facilitating the development of energy infrastructure projects with cross-border impact was adopted by the parliament in the first reading. Fifty eight lawmakers backed the concerned draft law.  

The document, worked out by the Energy Ministry, provides for the adjusting of the national legislation to the European Union’s one. The draft regulates the aspects related to the mechanism of energy governance and of the climate changes, as well as the facilitation of the development of energy infrastructure projects. The regulations and mechanism proposed will contribute to the implementation of projects of common interest within the Energy Community and of projects of mutual interest. At the same time, the MPs will complete the legislation with provisions which establish the way of organizing the process of authorization for projects of the Energy Community, describe the stages of the authorization process, the authorities involved and the management of costs of investments for projects’ implementation.     

The legislative initiative sees also the inclusion of the villages Lipoveni and Topala  from the southern Cimislia district in the list of settlements where national interest public utility works will be carried out for the construction of the Overhead Power Line of 400 kV of electric energy’s transportation Vulcanesti-Chisinau and the Vulcanesti back-to-back station. These works are provided for in the feasibility study for the implementation of the plan on the interconnection of the electric energy networks from Moldova and Romania.
