Chisinau, 10 September /MOLDPRES/ - Groups with extended schedule are under creation in the education institutions from the Chisinau city for the 2023-2024 academic year.
According to the Moldovan capital’s city hall, the groups with extended schedule are not among the compulsory school education services. Thus, the city hall annually additionally allocates financial sources for the groups’ organization, depending on the number of pupils applicants, teachers and rooms available. The pupils are registered under an order by the institution’s headmaster, based on the applications submitted by parents or tutors. The daily working schedule in the classes or groups with extended schedule has duration of three or six astronomic hours.
The expenses for the groups with extended schedule of education have been earlier paid either by parents or by the administration of the lyceums; starting from 2021, the Chisinau city hall took over these expenses. Thirty five million lei (about 1.7 million euros) was allocated to this end in the 2021-2022 school year and 60 million lei – in the 2022-2023 school year.
The groups with extended schedule give possibility to the pupils of the I-IV forms to remain at school after the classes, in order to make their homework under the supervision of a teacher and spend their free time together with other children.
