Moldovan president on visit to Soroca

Chisinau, 11 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Last week President Maia Sandu visited the 31 km section of Soroca - Arionești road, which has not benefited from serious repairs for 30 years and where construction works have started, the presidential press service has reported.

People from 12 localities, entrepreneurs and producers in the region will have access to a European quality road. The road repair costs 34 million euros and is being supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

"This is what European Moldova means - big projects for our villages and cities that improve infrastructure and living conditions at home. The European money coming to Moldova means European roads, modernized kindergartens and schools, water in people's homes", the president said.

In Soroca district, the head of state went to Stoicani commune to discuss with the people. The repair works of the Summer Theater have started in the locality, thanks to the European Village Program.

"Our goal is to provide water and sewage networks, lighting, waste management systems in our villages and cities. In the last two years, we have built about 100 km of sewerage, 300 km of street lighting, we have repaired over 350 km of roads and renovated dozens of schools and kindergartens", said Maia Sandu.
