Twenty second edition of Festival of Ethnic Minorities to be held in Moldova

Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/ - Unity through Diversity is the title of the 22nd edition of the Festival of Ethnic Minorities, due to take place in Chisinau and Moldova’s districts on 17 September.

„All those who want to know the cultures of the ethnic minorities who live in Moldova may expect to see national costumes, traditional dances, topic-related exhibitions, possibilities of multicultural dialogue, gastronomic dainties, as well as many other inter-cultural offers. At the same time, diverse activities dedicated to the Festival of Ethnic Minorities will be held in the country’s districts,’’ the Interethnic Relations Agency said.        

According to the quoted source, the goal of the festival is to turn to good account and perpetuate the traditions of the national minorities, as well as to develop the inter-cultural dialogue, consolidate the friendship relations between representatives of various ethnic minorities who live in Moldova.   

The event is organized by the Interethnic Relations Agency and the Chisinau city hall, in partnership with the Coordinating Council of the ethnic and cultural organizations.   

The event is carried out under a presidential decree from the 2000 year on the holding of ethnic and folkloric festivals and a government decision on the festival of ethnic minorities from 2002.
