Moldovan president meets new USAID's representative in Moldova

Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has welcomed in Chisinau the new representative of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Moldova, Jeff Bryan.
According to the presidential press service, during more than three decades, USAID has contributed to Moldova’s modernization, through the development assistance provided by the Government of the United States.
The United States helps Moldova have a strong democracy, including through the development of the civil society and mass media and has been backing the country also in strengthening the energy sector in the last years. The head of state thanked the Government of the USA for the support provided to carry out the reforms. In the discussion, the officials tackled the impact of the USAID projects which support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and which thus contribute to the growth of the economy and the consolidation of the state Republic of Moldova.
At the meeting, President Maia Sandu conveyed a message of commemoration of the victims of the terror attacks from 11 September 2001.
