Energocom company of Moldova holds new tender on buying natural gas

Chisinau, 13 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Energocom Company has held a new tender on the procurement of natural gas, which will significantly enhance the security of Moldova’s supply with gas in the next cold season. DEPA Commercial stock company is the winner of the tender, as it submitted the most competitive bid.    

The tender was held for the providing of volumes of natural gas which exceed 100 million cubic metres/1 TWh, meant for stocking; this quantity covers a significant part of the supply of Moldova’s gas market  on the winter period. The concerned procurement will be covered with sources of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which signed an agreement on loan with Moldova’s government.   

The director of DEPA Commercial stock company, Konstantinos Xifaras, said that the ‘’positive result of the tender consolidates even more the already strong partnership between the two companies and confirms he intention of DEPA Commercial stock company to stay the biggest strategic provider of Moldova from Europe, contributing to the security of the supply with natural gas and diversification of the sources of supply for the gas market of Moldova.’’     

„We continue to consolidate the relation with DEPA Commercial stock company, a relation which helps Moldova enhance its sources of supply with energy resources,’’ the Energocom director, Victor Binzari, said.    

In early September, Energocom informed that it initiated the procedure of procurement of gas, financed from EBRD’s sources. At the same time, during June-July this year, Energocom held more tenders, within which it purchased about 300 million cubic metres of natural gas with its own financial means.
