Chisinau, 13 September /MOLDPRES/ - A visit by Prime Minister Dorin Recean to the central Ialoveni district has started in the Ulmu village, where works of repair and thermal insulation of the building of the Mihai Eminescu Gymnasium are carried out within the European Village programme, the government’s communication and protocol department reported.
The project worth 2.7 million lei, financed by the National Office of regional and Local Development (ONDRL), is in the final stage, with the 95 per cent of the works carried out. PM Dorin Recean stressed that, due to the thermal insulation, the costs for heating would decrease significantly and the financial resources saved will be able to be redirected to other educational needs.
The PM discussed with gymnasium’s teachers and appreciated their dedication, noting that the daily effort they made represents an important investment both in the future of each pupil and of Moldova. At the same time, according to the prime minister, the authorities will continue building an education system based on quality, performance and meritocracy.
„The government has more obligations towards the teachers and one of them, on which we already work, deals with the increase in salaries. The second aspect regards the foundation of the National Education Institute, in order to continuously enhance the teachers’ performance,’’ the prime minister said.
Presently, 217 pupils attend the Mihai Eminescu Gymnasium. The education institution has a modern material basis – laboratories, classrooms endowed with computers, monitors and interactive tables.
