Moldovan president has meeting with NATO Deputy Secretary General

Chisinau, 14 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu welcomed NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana in Chisinau today. The discussions were focused on the current cooperation programmes, the security situation in the region and ways Moldova’s resilience to the present challenges can be enhanced, the presidential press service has reported.

The head of state stressed the importance of the cooperation with the North Atlantic Alliance, in order to modernize the security and defence sectors. We need the expertise and assistance on behalf of the NATO, in order to enhance the capacity of response to hybrid dangers, misinformation or cyber risks and fully turn to account the present formats of cooperation with the NATO.

In the current regional security context, the support of the foreign partners is quite important for strengthening the state’s capacities to counteract the hybrid threats against Moldova.
