Joint Moldovan-Ukrainian Commission: Deadline for liberalization of goods transport extended by late 2025

Chisinau, 15 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Deadline for the liberalization of goods transport has been extended by late 2025, according to a decision approved following the meeting of the Joint Moldovan-Ukrainian Commission on International Road Transport, held in videoconference format on September 13-14.
Following the negotiations, the sides decided to increase the quota of authorizations for carrying out the transport of goods to/from third countries by 3000 authorizations. "Thus, the quota of authorizations intended for Moldovan transport operators for 2024 is: 7000 authorizations for the transport of goods to/from third countries and 2200 authorizations for the occasional transport of people", the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development (MIDR) said.
The meeting also focused on the authorized routes between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine for carrying out the transport of people through regular services.
The parties also discussed the possibilities of the financing instrument of the European Union Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and agreed to make joint efforts to attract investments for the development and implementation of transport and infrastructure projects for both countries.
