ANRE financially sanctioned Moldovatransgaz

Chisinau, 15 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) has set a financial sanction on the natural gas transmission system operator (OST) Moldovatransgaz worth 33,996,456 lei (1.7 million euros).

According to ANRE, the sanction was applied "for non-compliance with the legal obligations related to ensuring independence in relation to the vertically integrated natural gas company Moldovagaz, which carries out a licensed natural gas supply activity".

ANRE said that the requirement regarding the separation and independence of the natural gas OST is provided by both the provisions of the Law on natural gas and the Energy Package III, and failure to comply with it entails the application of a financial sanction.

The financial sanction applied to Moldovatransgaz is to be transferred to the state budget.
