About 8,000 pupils from socially vulnerable families of Chisinau to receive assistance for new school year

Chisinau, 18 September /MOLDPRES/ - About 8,000 pupils from socially vulnerable families of the Moldovan capital will receive about 700 lei each for the new school year. The deputy head of the education, youth and sport general department of the Chisinau city hall, Andrei Pavaloi, today made statements to this effect at an operative meeting of the municipal services.
According to Pavaloi, at the first stage, 6,400 children have already received the help and at the second phase, 1,600 children are to benefit from financial support.
„It is about children of the first, fifth and tenth forms, who have been recently registered at institutions from the capital,’’ Andrei Pavaloi said.
Among the programmes’ beneficiaries, there are: families with many children or low-income ones, single parent families, the families in which one of the parents has disability degree and families with status of guardianship, with dead parents, deprived of the parental rights or unable to work.
The material assistance is provided the fourth year in a row.
