Over 14,000 citizens call ambulance in Moldova last week

Chisinau, 19 September /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 14,169 people called the ambulance last week, of whom 2,433 children and 5,936 patients were carried to hospital.
According to National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Centre (CNAMUP), the ambulance was called for patients for the following reasons: 2,898 cardiovascular diseases, of which 38 cases with acute coronary syndrome; they were followed by 2,115 respiratory emergencies, 1,949 neurological problems, of which 197 cerebral vascular accidents and 254 infectious emergencies.
At the same time, medical teams served 1,507 traumatology emergencies, of which 1,143 cases in adults and 364 in children, of whom 830 adults and 297 children were carried to hospital. Also, ambulance was called for 65 traffic accidents which occurred on Moldova’s roads, in the wake of which 73 people suffered, of whom 57 adults and 16 children. Following the providing of the pre-hospital emergency assistance, 58 patients, of whom 45 adults and 13 children were transported to hospital for medical care.
Also, 76 calls were received for reasons of chemical and environmental agents, including at 49 people with animal bites or stings of insects, 26 people with combustions and one electrocuted person. Also, 35 toxic emergencies were registered, of which 15 intoxications with medicines, 12 with other substances, three with alcohol, three ones with mushrooms and two intoxications with drugs.
