Over 30 states, dozens of international organizations to come to Chisinau, due to host fourth issue of Moldova Support Platform

Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/ - Over 30 states, as well as dozens of international organizations and financial organizations will bring together in Chisinau on 17 October, at the fourth issue of the Moldova Support Platform, initiated by Romania, Germany and France. Prime Minister Dorin Recean made statements to this effect at a news conference, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
According to the PM, the representatives of the participating states, including at the level of foreign affairs ministers, will analyze the needs of Moldova in the context of the crisis triggered by Russia’s war in Ukraine. ‘’This is a solidarity gesture proved by our friends towards Moldova,’’ Dorin Recean said.
At the meeting, Moldova will ask for assistance in three principal sectors, which show the priorities in the country’s development. The first sector regards the budgetary support, necessary for covering the expenses dealing with the payment of salaries and pensions, as well as for the further support of the socially vulnerable segments.
Another field regards the creation of a Fund for Infrastructure, which will contribute to the modernization and extension of the present infrastructure, creating a solid basis for economic growth and social development. The creation of the Fund for Green Energy will be tackled as well.
„This fund will contribute to the backing of innovating projects in the green energy sector and to reducing Moldova’s dependence on the pollutant sources of energy. We will focus, in continuation, on enhancing the energy efficiency, as well as on the programmes due to help us get adjusted to the climate changes,’’ PM Dorin Recean also said.
At the previous meetings of the Moldova Support Platform, held in Berlin, Paris and Bucharest, Moldova received support for the compensation of the expenses in invoices, providing assistance to farmers and carrying out of infrastructure projects.
The government invites the national and international media to accreditation at the event and the section dedicated to the Moldova Support Platform will be updated, in spirit of transparency, on the government’s webpage.
Till 5 October, the editorial offices will submit an application on accreditation addressed to the State Chancellery, to the email: [email protected]. The application will be signed by the head of the media institution and will include the name of the journalist, the ones of the technical team’s members, 3x4 photos of the people and the copies of the staff ID cards.
The decision on accreditation will be communicated till 10 October 2023.
