Moldovan parliament convenes at plenary meeting on 21 September; MPs to consider extension of emergency state

Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament on 21 September will convene at a meeting and will consider the government’s request on the extension of the emergency state. The parliament’s standing bureau approved the meeting’s agenda today.
The MPs will discuss, in the first reading, two drafts which envisage the adjusting of the national normative framework to the provisions of the EU legislation: amendments to the Law on procurements in the sectors of energy, water, transports and postal services, as well as to the Law of waters. The lawmakers will also examine, in the first reading, amendments to the Law on the rights and duties of the patient, the Law on libraries, Law on beekeeping, Law for the approval of the framework regulation on the local public administration.
The parliament’s plenum will consider and ratify two agreements. The documents see the amendment of the Agreement on strategic partnership, trade and cooperation between Moldova and the United Kingdom, signed in Chisinau on 25 May 2023 and the ratification of the Addendum No 2 to the Agreement on financing between the government of Moldova and the European Union on the development of rural areas, signed in Chisinau on 21 July 2017. The MPs will also discuss the initiatives on the denunciation of three agreements concluded on the platform of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
The agenda of the plenary meeting includes also the discussion, in the second reading, of the draft laws on the providing of fiscal and customs facilities to the import and deliveries of goods meant for the implementation of the project, Thermal Energy System of Balti Municipality (CET-Nord stock company) Phase II, as well as of the implementation of the programme, Energy Saving Credits, financed and implemented by the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO).
At the meeting due on 21 September, the parliament is also to discuss the report on the work of the guarantee fund of the deposits in the banking system for 2022.
